Private Voice Instruction

Instructor:  Agnes McCarthy

voiceNationally recognized voice teacher, performer, examiner and clinician, Agnes McCarthy brings her expert approach to training singers of all ages and abilities.  Lessons include regular focus on the technical aspects of singing, ear training, tuning, note reading and repertoire preparation while respecting the individual needs of each and every singer young or old, beginner or advanced.   Instruction includes performance opportunities throughout the year in regular recitals, local and provincial festivals and community events.  Agnes brings to her private instruction 26 years of experience training singers in Sault Ste. Marie and other communities.  Her students have regularly pursued professional careers in vocal performance, received acceptance into prestigious University Music Programs at the Graduate and Undergraduate levels across Canada and the U.S. as well as School Music positions across Canada. Others have developed a lifetime love of singing and performing (despite other career choices) that make them core participants in many community musical groups.  As a former examiner for Conservatory Canada, an RCM certified Advanced Vocal Specialist, and a teacher with a proven record of exam success (many of her students have won medals of excellence in both the RCM and Conservatory Canada exam systems), she also provides expert exam preparation for those who wish it in either curriculum.
